The Walking Dead Review
Throughout the history of film it seems there
has been an endless amount of zombie films
and shows made, Resident evil 28 Days Later , Quarantine, just to name a
few of many. It seems that there couldn’t possibly be a new zombie movie or T.V
series that would introduce any new elements. That’s were the walking dead
seems to be so entertaining.
The T.V series on AMC follows
a group of survivors, Rick, Lori, Carl, Glenn, and Daryl, to name a few who are
travelling through miles of zombie filled hostile territory. Not working
towards a specific goal or location but just trying to survive and solve the
problems they are faced with day to day.
The film creates a convincing
illusion of reality, there are many parts where the survivors are left pointing
guns at each other, screaming and yelling and assaulting one another, and even
an affair between Shane and Lori. The type of behaviour that you would assume
would take place during a apocalypse and a time of extreme panic, The human to
human drama just adds to the constant and exciting chaos,
The creators of this series
have subverted expectations, with a solid plot line with lots of twists and turns.
For example the main character Rick awakens in a coma to find that the world
has been over run by zombies and that he must search for his family members. You would assume that you would have to wait
episodes or seasons for him to reunite with his family, but instead he finds
them in the 3rd episode, something that is unexpected.
I think that one of the main
messages that keeps being delivered is that we as a society seem to become
selfish and do not always make the best choices in a time of panic or need, but
if we kept our cool and helped out each other we would be in a lot better of a
place,
I think that the series will
continue to entertain its hungry audience with many more twists and turns and
edge of your seat excitement
